Dale Carnegie Course for Young Adults

I am the proud mother of a son and a daughter. They currently attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Throughout their years in school, they had very different needs, which mirrored their personalities. Yet, it turned out that they both greatly benefited from the Dale Carnegie Course for Teens and Adults, each in their own way.

My son was shy and had difficulties making friends. In high school, I spoke to his counselor and she recommended this program. My son and I attended the first class and both of us felt this was the right place for him. He won awards and gained confidence, week after week. I watched as he began to spend hours on the telephone or internet with new friends. Most importantly, he learned personal skills that helped him bring out all of the strengths he already possessed. Four years later, he now excels in all areas of his life!

My daughter watched her brother embrace the powerful lessons presented and practiced at Dale Carnegie. When life became challenging in high school, we went right to the teen program. Once again at the first class, we felt it was the right place for her. Stress management was one of the important skills emphasized during the weekly classes. When my daughter became overly stressed, these skills helped her to cope with her problems. I watched my daughter become a confident, wise young woman. She felt so strongly about the message of the program, that she became a graduate assistant the next year!

There are many important aspects to this program. First is the message. Both of my children took the lessons and skills presented each week and applied them to their lives. They found that they became more and more empowered as these techniques really worked in the outside world. The second important aspect is the leaders. I will always be grateful to these professionals who truly cared for and about my children. This caring continues today. The enthusiasm that is shown by the leaders and graduate assistants at each class is contagious. Finally, my children always came home from the class feeling good about themselves! What else could I want for them?

I have recommended Dale Carnegie to many people. It is not inexpensive, but it provides skills for a lifetime. The first class is free, so there is nothing to lose....and everything to gain.
