Many people ask, what is the difference between the standard Dale Carnegie Course and the Dale Carnegie Course for Young Adults. The content is exactly the same. In the course for Young Adults, our teen aged class members make up approximately 50% of the class, the other 50% are adults. In the standard Dale Carnegie Course; there are usually 3 or 4 teenagers in the class.

Parents often meet some resistance when suggesting that their teen take an additional class....." ugggg, not more school". They don't realize that the Dale Carnegie Course is unlike any other class that they have experienced. The best way to remove this barrier is to attend the kick off session. There is no commitment and they can bring a friend, sibling or other family member just for fun. Call the office to reserve a seat as a guest and then see what they think about attending the rest of the course.

Listen to what one graduate has to say about his experience.

Here's what teen graduates have written about their experience in the Dale CarnegieŽ Course:

Dear Dad,
I have learned that whenever you push for me to do something you are always right about it and it is a beneficial experience in the end. Taking this Dale Carnegie course is the best example of this so far in my life. You told me this class would help me become a better speaker and become better at working with people. Not only has it done that for me but it has shown me how close you can become with a group of people in such a short time if you just put effort toward your relationships. Over these twelve weeks I have become a more well rounded person because I have stepped out of my comfort zone, therefore I can see things from many point of views and learn from them. I also believe the people around me have benefited from me taking this class. All the great human relations principles I learned from this class became a part of me so I know I automatically share them with other people. I think the kindness that is a result from using the human relations principles goes a long way. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone took the Dale Carnegie Course! Thank you again so much for making me take this course, and I know that you always know what is best for me.

Love, Johnny

"Thanks for asking about Anthony. He is almost done with the course and I know that this was a great thing for him. He called me every Tuesday night when the class was done just to give me an update, and I looked forward to hearing from him cause he was always so up beat when he left the class. He was always so proud of HIMSELF when he told me about getting up in front of the class and being relaxed and confident. When he sent me the letter thanking me for pushing him into this course, it just blew my mind away. This has been a great experience right from the beginning which includes YOU! You were so nice to me when I was at a time when I wasn't sure I was making the right choice but I know this course will have an impact on his liife forever, which is what I hoped for from the beginning. You truly deserve recognition. I was comfortable talking with you. Much thanks to Dr. Silverstone who sat next me on a plane and gave me the burning desire to look into this course from the start. Thanks again Kathy.
Sincerely,
D.E

"This class has been an awesome experience. It has been really cool. I have more courage and confidence than ever before. I can talk in front of people without butterflies in my stomach. I went off of the high dive, which I never would have done before. I stopped worrying so much. Life is so much better when I don't worry all the time. Enthusiasm! It's cool how it works--if I'm happy and nice, everyone around me seems more happy and kinder. I think our whole family can benefit. My whole life has changed! Now I'm a whole new person in a whole new life. This is the best thing ever!

Today, the world is more complex, competitive, and demanding than ever before. Young people often need to balance school, work, and relationships while at the same time, planning for their future. The result can be increased pressure and stress. Unfortunately, many teens have not developed strong "life skills" to help them gain an advantage in today's competitive world.

The Generation.Next Dale Carnegie CourseŽ for Teens and Adults is designed to prepare individuals for the real world. It helps them develop the skills they need to reach their goals and live up to their potential. Through the Dale Carnegie CourseŽ, students will learn how to:

¨ Strengthen his or her self-confidence
¨ Overcome fear and shyness
¨ Maintain a positive and optimistic attitude towards life
¨ Remain focused and directed in times of challenge
¨ Understand the relationship between daily decisions and lifelong goals
¨ Practice tools to effectively manage stress and worry
¨ Accept people and their differences
¨ Build better relationships at home, at school, and in social situations
¨ Strengthen verbal communication skills

Not every successful person is born with these skills. Although they may seem like common sense, they need to be learned, developed, and mastered. We specialize in helping our class members move these concepts from common sense to common practice. Help your teen become the person they dream of becoming. This class is designed for people of all ages who desire to get more out of life.
